Forum Rules
For reasons of better readability of the rules and forum messages, gender-specific distinctions are not made in certain cases. Even if the reader is addressed grammatically as male, this naturally refers to every reader, regardless of their gender.
§1. Validity of the rules
1.1 | These rules apply to the novelnia.net forum and all associated components.
1.2 | By registering on the novelnia.net forum, the player accepts these rules and undertakes to comply with them.
1.3 | Failure to comply with these rules may result in penalties being imposed by the novelnia.net server team.
1.4 | Changes may be made to the rules at any time and are binding with immediate effect. For this reason, it is mandatory to regularly check the current status of the rules.
1.5 | Ignorance of the rules does not protect you from punishment.
§2. Consequences
2.1 | As a general rule, penalties will only be imposed in cases of appropriate severity and with corresponding justification.
2.2 | Punishment in the forum is usually carried out via a warning point system, on which the duration of the punishment depends. If a user already has penalties, the points are added to the initial value and the duration of the punishment is imposed depending on the total.
2.3 | Possible consequences are:
- Exclusion from our forum.
- Exclusion from specific topics.
- Deletion of the post/topic.
- Closure of the topic.
- Deletion of the profile picture.
- Deletion of the infotext.
§3. Forum rules
3.1 | The search function must be used before creating any topics in order to avoid duplication.
3.2 | The forum is divided into categories and subforums. When creating a topic, please ensure that you select the correct category.
3.3 | The server team will move topics to other categories and subforums if the topic does not fit the purpose of the section.
3.4 | Posts and headlines must be written in understandable language and formatting and with appropriate spelling. Misleading and incomprehensible titles must be avoided.
3.5a | Topics will be closed by the server team when further replies are not necessary. After that, no further replies are possible.
3.5b | The server team also reserves the right to close topics at any time without giving reasons.
3.6 | Once a topic has been clarified, i.e., answered or discussed, the creator may request that a supporter or moderator close the topic.
3.7 | Topics will be deleted if the content violates our forum rules or if the topic is otherwise not well developed, especially in the “Feedback” subforum. This also includes so-called “troll posts,” which do not guarantee the meaningfulness of the content in the post or are not written seriously.
3.8 | “Pushing” topics, i.e., creating posts with the intention of moving the topic up in the forum order, is not permitted.
3.9 | Misuse of the reporting function is prohibited. Posts may only be reported for legitimate, proper reasons, such as “duplication,” “insults,” “provocative behavior,” “spam,” and similar.
3.10 | Misuse of the like/dislike function is prohibited. Posts may only be liked or disliked if there is a legitimate, meaningful, and justifiable reason for the like or dislike.
3.11 | The use of so-called duplicate accounts is prohibited. Each user may only have one account.
§4. Forum content
4.1 | Any insults directed at other users, the server, outsiders, or other parties involved are prohibited. All conflicts must be resolved in a factual manner.
4.2 | Sarcastic comments should be identified as such in order to avoid misunderstandings in advance.
4.3 | Signatures, profile pictures, punctuation marks, smileys, and any other additional features provided by the forum must be used appropriately.
4.3.1 | This also includes GIF images. These must not be too fast or cause significant disruption to other users.
4.4 | Repeatedly creating the same or similar posts within a short period of time is prohibited (spam). This also applies to profile messages, including those across profiles.
4.5 | Post hunting is to be avoided.
4.6 | Radical, misanthropic, violence-glorifying, pornographic, sexist, and racist statements and content of any kind are strictly prohibited.
4.7 | The distribution of so-called “screamers” is also strictly prohibited.
4.8 | Advertising in all forms is prohibited. This includes, for example:
- Advertising for other servers.
- Advertising for a YouTube channel.
- Advertising for a specific brand/company.
4.9 | Threats, whether empty or serious, are prohibited.
4.10 | The caps lock function must be kept disabled.
4.11 | Disrespectful and provocative statements are undesirable.
4.12 | Copyrighted content may only be published in the forum with the express permission of the copyright holder.
4.13 | Boosting likes is prohibited.
4.14 | Political posts/topics are not allowed in the forum.
4.15 | Special regulations regarding unban requests can be found in the general server rules in section 2.3.6.
4.16 | If a user's behavior does not comply with general moral standards, the server team reserves the right to impose a penalty even if the specific rule violation is not mentioned in the rules (criminal offenses).
